Eli Meyer - President I first became involved with SiGBA in 2006 to develop an interactive website that could be dynamically operated by a team of volunteers. In 2007 I was elected president of SiGBA helping achieve our 501c3 non-profit status and making huge improvements in our record keeping and financial management. In 2008 I hope to create new part-time staff positions, improving our quality of service to our members and the community. I also hope to oversee the growth of our website, training more volunteers to help maintain the sites content, and fully integrating our membership database into an interactive internet-based, multi-user system. |
Beth Harris - Vice President The most rewarding aspect of working with SiGBA this past year as Vice President, and previously with Events Committee, has been my direct involvement in setting and reaching goals that meet the mission of this organization. One of the most important goals is educating the community of smart building and smart living. To literally see people hit with new knowledge is extremely exciting and gratifying. My continued leadership as Vice President will serve this organization well in 2008. I know that by staying directly involved with the growth of this organization, it ultimately means growth of the community, and the individuals within. |
Ian Waight - Treasurer Ian has been active with SiGBA for over two years, as board seat, Treasurer, during 2007. He plans to remain an active Board member for 2008. Not only does Ian hold an important role in seeing that SiGBA stays true to their budget and overseeing finances, but he also acts as liaison between SiGBA and other local non-profit organization, CATT (Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe) which he is also an active member of. SiGBA will greatly benefit from the continuing work and support from Ian Waight as Treasurer in 2008. |
Hanni Schwiesow - Secretary Following graduation from the University of Nevada, Reno in May of 2005 I immediately began my professional career as a structural designer. I further immersed myself in the profession through organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers, which I was involved in at a national, regional and collegiate level. In 2006 I became a LEED Accredited Professional, which has solidified my passion for and interest in all aspects of green building. Living and working in the Tahoe area is both satisfying and rewarding and I would be honored to be a part of this very important organization to help increase a 'green' presence in the Truckee-Tahoe communities. |
David Gemme - Sustainability Chair Hi my name is David Gemme (Gem). I am interested in a board member position for Sustainability Chair. Here is a brief summary of my credentials. I started my pursuit in Green Building by attending a self direct study program at Humboldt State University in 1993. My major consisted of Environmental Science, Appropriate Technologies/Sustainable design, and Recreation administration. I have grown up in the construction industry, I have spent the last 5 years of my life running a successful business in Real Estate and marketing/promotions, and I have been living green technologies in my life for well over the past 15 years. I love the direction that SiGBA and this industry is moving and would enjoy being more involved in the process. Thank you for considering me for this board position. |
Meghan Bosher - Events Chair For the past two years I have been actively involved with the Events Committee, helping to organize monthly speaker series, annual mixer, green building tour, and the Green Symposium of Truckee Home and Building Show. I feel with my experience and understanding how to run our events, I will be a great candidate for the Events Committee Chair. My goal is to see the growth of SiGBA's events and create a broader outreach to our community. SiGBA is here to help educate our community about green building and living and connect individuals with similar interests! |
