President
| | | Eli is a leader with diverse interests and keen enthusiasm for following his heart. Originally from Wisconsin, Eli earned his Aeronautical Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1998) in New York. Eli has a broad range of experience including design, engineering, and photography. He modestly understates his past accomplishments of designing single-engine aircraft and commercial rotor-craft.
When Eli's life reached a cross roads, he chose to live in the mountains rather than accept a promising job designing military helicopters. He pursued a career in photography (and skiing) in Oregon which brought him the Colorado Rockies, then briefly settling down in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Eli lived in four time zones during those two years of soul searching.
In 2001 Eli moved to California to apply his experience designing aircraft to developing sustainable transportation. After spending a year in Truckee and North Tahoe Eli discovered that 2002 was not the best time to be starting a career in sustainable transportation (see Who Killed the Electric Car.) Eager to move back into design and engineering, Eli took on a job with a Truckee Engineer doing residential design. Wanting to learn more about green building and sustainable design he attended several SiGBA workshops and events. He soon became a strong advocate of green building, developing a new (wind powered) website for SiGBA, and in 2007 becoming president of the organization.
When Eli isn't working with SiGBA, he works at MWA, Inc. as a design technician. MWA is a diverse architecture firm that specializes in commercial and residential project in and around the Truckee, North Tahoe area.
