Volunteer Highlight

Meghan Bosher
Meghan has been volunteering with SiGBA since early 2006.

I has been involved in green building and sustainability for about 6 years now. My focus in college was in sustainable landscape design which grew into a greater understanding of site design and building placement to capture the positive element of the natural environment. This is one of the reasons I became so excited by green building design and has lead to my current career at Pastore Ryan.

Q: Specifically, what are things you have personally done to Live Green / Build Green?
A: Apart of a CSA program (community shared agriculture) and bike or walk to work everyday even in the worst of winter, unless I get a ride to the mountain on power mornings!

Q: What is it about SiGBA that keeps you active in volunteering here?
A: The people that help keep the organization running and the positive feedback from the speaker series and events we put on

Q: What specific contributions have you accomplished while a SiGBA Volunteer?
A: Was the green director of the 15 Annual Truckee Home and Building Show, the first year SiGBA had a major influence on the show.

Q: What is your current occupation (the work you get paid for)?
A: EcoDesign Associate at Pastore Ryan

Q: How does your occupation coalesce with the mission and goals of SiGBA?
A: Pastore Ryan is a design and engineering firm in Kings Beach, focusing on green building design and integrated stormwater and landscape design.

Q: What do you like to do on your spare time?
A: Sail, swim, bike, hike, fly fish, ski and see all the good shows that pass through Tahoe.
