Foothills Chair - Jim Crowley

Life is a journey and you never really know where the adventure will take you.
Jim resides in Grass Valley where his business, Crowley Builders, Inc. and E-Building Systems is located. The early part of his adventure had him swinging a hammer, pounding nails and loving life
to be able to live and work in such an incredible region as the Sierra Foothills, where he moved to in
1979. It wasn't long after he settled in that he opened his own business to build Custom Homes.
In 1991, Jim was introduced to Structural Insulated Panel Building Systems (SIPs), which caused a radical change in his approach to the building envelope. Constructing with framing systems to create the perfect high energy efficient building envelope became his specialty, which in turn led him down the path to learning more about environmental design and other sustainable building practices.
Serving SiGBA as the chair for the newly formed Foothills Chapter, Jim has been awarded with a deeper knowledge of green building and green living.
"SiGBA is a great organization to be a part of. It offers everyone an opportunity to learn more about ways we can give back and protect the environment, among people of shared interests".
The journey never ends. There are always new horizons to explore. The adventure continues.
