Green building and sustainability are essential to maintaining our natural environment. SiGBA is a local group of individuals and businesses committed to promoting a sustainable economy & building environment. Our mission is to increase the awareness of the economic, social, and environmental benefi ts of green building across the Sierra Nevada region and to rapidly advance the development of green building practices in new developments, new homes and remodeling construction in our area. SiGBA strives to communicate the benefits of green building and to facilitate the change that will bring green building technologies to the forefront of high performance building design. To this end SiGBA provides:

• Ongoing research to provide the it's members and the public with current news and information regarding green building and sustainable living.
• Education resources to communities of the Northern Sierra Nevada, to familiarize the public with the benefits of green building. SiGBA shares information through: our educational speaker series, mixers, special events, workshops, green tours and green building awards.
• Information on new products and technologies through our website, print materials and the Green Building Resource Guide.
• Professional training development and accreditation courses to facilitate excellence in green building design, construction and maintenance.
• Collaboration with local governments to establish green building guidelines and encourage oversight of green development and construction projects critical to green building's and SiGBA's success.
