The first and most important step in constructing an energy efficient building is to create a tight and well insulated envelope. Unfortunately, it is also the one most often overlooked, even when we think we re doing it right!
Here, we will discuss the misconceptions we have about how tight our buildings really are and present an overview of 3 of the technologies for overcoming this hurdle that best fit today s mainstream architectural styles: Structural Insulated Panels (SIP s), Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF s) & Advanced Framing Techniques.
Who should attend? Building professionals and DIY s who aren t afraid to find out what they re doing wrong, as well as homeowners thinking about building or remodeling.
