Home Performance contracting is an approach to building that allows the contractor to actually test systems for their installed efficiency, which is typically well below the manufacturers rated efficiency. In this brief introduction we will give an overview of the testing process and discuss the problems and opportunities we find in typical Nevada County buildings.

Finally we will introduce procedures that allow a typical stick built home to perform as well as any of the other building technologies available. In fact one of the example homes we talk about has met the Passive Home Standard with out employing any alternative construction materials or methods.

Who should attend? Building professionals and homeowners who want to learn the importance of measuring a building s true system performance as a means of developing solutions to reducing their energy consumption.
