Education Director |  | | John Arsenault - While exploring the country for ten years, John worked in a variety of outdoor businesses with organizations such as Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, The Appalachian Mountain Club, Multnomah County's Outdoor School, Eastern Mountain Sports, Longacre Expeditions, Crystal Seas Kayak Tours, Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing, Grand Targhee and Squaw Valley Ski and Summer Resorts. With a keen interest in experiential education, John has worked with groups in the outdoors in a variety of environments: open ocean, whitewater, hiking, camping, caving, mountain biking, and mountaineering. He holds current certification as a Wilderness First Responder and as a Maine State Sea Kayak Guide. John owns and operates Duran Properties, a small property management holding company, has worked as a finish carpenter, spent two years as a high school English teacher as well as traveled to the South Pacific with an international service learning program. He has earned a BA in English Literature from Boston University and a MA in Teaching from the University of Maine at Orono.
Currently, he teaches as an adjunct English professor at Sierra College and TMCC and English Teacher at Forest Charter School in Truckee, CA
