REMINDER: Live Green Build Green Speaker Series: Energy & Water Conservation Presented by Scott Terrell, tonight March 25th |  | |
SiGBA is hosting a "Live Green Build Green" Speaker Series: Energy and Water Conservation Practices on Tuesday, March 25th. Scott Terrell from the Truckee Donner PUD will give an overview of ways to save energy and water and discuss Truckee Donner PUD's conservation programs. This event will be held at the Cedar House Sport Hotel at 10918 Brockway Road, Truckee, CA starting at 6 p.m. with no host food and drinks. The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Planning and Masters in Energy and Environmental Education from Humboldt State University. He has been in his current position with the Truckee Donner Public Utility District since 1992. The main focus of Scott's career has been in energy, water efficiency, renewable energy, green building and sustainability. This year he received a Regional Sustainability Vision award from the Northern Nevada Chapter of Architect's Institute of America (AIA). He has served on a number of resource-conserving and sustainability non-profit groups and committees local and statewide.
SiGBA is a local non-profit group of like-minded individuals and businesses committed to promoting a "Live Green Build Green" philosophy. As the Sierra's leading green building resource and community education organization, SiGBA's mission is to educate and promote effective environmental design and building practices in the Sierra Nevada communities.
Cost: $5.00 for members, $10.00 for non-members.

Scott Terrell will also be teaching a workshop for "Residential & Small Business Energy Auditing" from March 28-30 and April 5 a hands-on field audit.
Learn how to save energy and water costs in your home and/or business. Start a new career in energy conservation or improve current energy job skills.
Gain the basic skills to conduct home and small business energy audits. Learn about the principles of energy, heat transfer, building codes, rating systems, old and new technologies, energy billing and history analysis, formulas and calculations, economic analysis and more. Lecture, case studies and field work will help you gain knowledge about appliances, building efficiency, lighting, space cooling and heating, water heating and other energy-using items.
