Screening of "Nicotine Bees" the move July 12 in Reno
On Monday, July 12 from 7pm to 9pm at the Washoe County Commissioner's Chambers, Bldg. A, 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno, greenUP! and co-sponsor Northern Nevada Apiculture society will have a screening of the movie "Nicotine Bees" followed by an open discussion with guest speaker Walter Haefeker, Beekeeper and President of the European Professional Beekeeper's Association.

Nicotine Bees, the movie, gets to the truth about why the honeybees of the world are in big trouble, and why our food supply is in trouble with them.

Walter, who was featured in Nicotine Bees also makes a guest appearance in another bee movie called Vanishing of the Bees!

Oscar-nominated actress Ellen Page (JUNO) has recorded the narration for the U.S version of this film. Producers for this film wanted a woman to represent the sister society within a beehive. They also wanted someone with celebrity starpower that could draw audiences and spread the message about the bees.

So bees are an important topic. Be sure to take the opportunity to speak with Walter during greenFEST and watch the screening of the movie in Reno on Monday, July 12.

Come to Tahoe GreenFEST 2010 at North Tahoe Events Center and Kings Beach Plaza, 8318 North Lake Boulevard (Highway 28 at Coons), Kings Beach, CA.

Tahoe greenFEST is free and open to the public. Live-green build-green wristbands are on sale for $10 and entitle the wearer to 10 raffle tickets and discounts on items for sale during the event.

Dr Solar, ever the safe-energy advocate, presents his eco-friendly portable traveling children's and family entertainment experience from his self-contained, solar powered thespian's gypsy wagon, The World's First Solar Powered Theatre. Reminiscent of by-gone days of P.T. Barnum and his GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, Dr Solar is reducing his carbon footprint day by day and show by show with his eco-themed spectcular show.

A Unique Family-Friendly Entertainment Experience Based Upon the Traditional Traveling Medicine Shows from the Turn-of-the-Century, 1870- 1930, a major renaissance period in the theatre and arts in America. A rollicking road show of family fun and wholsome values with a dash of education. Magic, comedy and ventriloquism, a show for all ages.
