Black Water General Info
Evapotranspiration Systems - ET and ETI systems are best suited for arid (evaporation exceeds precipitation) climates.
Peat Bio Filters - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Biofiltration is a pollution control technique using living material to filter or chemically process pollutants. Common uses include processing waste water, capturing harmful chemicals or silt from surface runoff, and microbiotic oxidation of contaminants in air.
Wisconsin Mound - Mounds were developed to overcome three conditions: (1) slow or fast permeable soils, (2) shallow soil cover over creviced or porous bedrock, and (3) a high water table. A site that has any one, or a combination of, these conditions is not suited for a conventional system. Because acceptable soil conditions are not always found below the surface, the mound allows the conditions to be created above the surface.
